NATURAL DYE

Avocado Pits and Onion Skins

Persea Americana, commonly known as avocado, contains a natural pigment called perseorangin. When the seeds are crushed and exposed to air, they oxidize, releasing a red-orange color that can be used to dye fabric. The resulting color varies depending on the type of fibers used, ranging from soft pink hues to deep salmon tones.

Allium cepa,
or onion skins (yellow and red), contain anthocyanin compounds, which are responsible for creating rich and diverse color results. These compounds produce beautiful tan shades to darker purple hues when used as a dye, offering a natural and sustainable option for fabric coloration.
